HIGH POINT — After leading ManWah USA for the past seven years, Guy Ray will be transitioning to an advisory role for the company effective Oct. 1.
Gabriele Natale, who was recently named president of Division 1, will take responsibility for the leadership role running the North and South American business. He will be making all day-to-day as well as long-term decisions, enabling the company to maintain the continued growth which the company has experienced over the past couple of years.
Under Ray’s leadership, ManWah USA has experienced exceptional growth. He dealt with the trade war issues by moving a $500 million business from China to Vietnam in 18 months and contributed to building what the company calls the world’s largest upholstery plant with 6 million square feet of manufacturing capacity.
“It has been my honor to work with the Wong family and a great team of people, all committed to building the best products in the industry and to service our retail partners, which have become my personal friends,” said Ray. “I am leaving my CEO position for personal family reasons, knowing that the company is in great hands.”
As an advisor to the company, Ray said he would make himself available to Natale when needed, but will focus his time building out plans for future opportunities.
“Working alongside Guy over the past year and a half has given me a clear understanding ManWah’s core values and strength,” said Natale, “putting me in a position to continue leading the team while focusing on developing the infrastructure to better supports our customers’ needs.”
ManWah USA has a total of more than 7 million square feet of manufacturing in both Vietnam and China dedicated to supporting the North American Market. ManWah has a total revenue of over $2 billion per year, with 30,000 employees worldwide.
