Made.com customers may be made to wait for furniture | Business

Shipping delays and higher freight costs could lead to even longer waiting times and higher prices for customers buying furniture from Made.com, the recently listed online retailer has warned.

The business, which has lost more than a quarter of its value since its £775 million listing in June, said that its profit margins were already under pressure because of rising global freight costs and foreign exchange headwinds.

Made.com said that disruptions were likely to last for the rest of the year and it joined a growing rank of retailers, ranging from Dunelm to Halfords to The Entertainer, in warning of delays and cost increases as a result of supply chain disruptions.
